Warp Speed to the Weekend of 6/26-6/28
It looks like a quiet week. Still, there are a few good events on.
Gaming:
- Are you honorable? A sportsman? Willing to lend a hand to a fallen foe? Then stay away from Pandemonium at 1 PM this Sunday (6/28) . For that is the time the Munchkins come out. Yes, it’s Munchkin Tournament 2: The Revenge: $5 entry fee. Top players in each game will advance to a classic Munchkin game for Pride, Glory, and Prizes!
- Your Move Games hosts its usual schedule of games. On Sunday the 28th, you can take part in one of two campaignes. From 12-4, explore the Savage Worlds, in the titular RPG in the Sundered Skies setting. For more info click here.
- Also at YMG, Sunday, from 1-10, revisit a classic. Gary Gygax’s classic module ‘The Village of Hommlet’ has been updated for the 4th edition.
Movies:
- The MFA’s Film Noir series concludes Friday and Saturday, with the classics, The Big Sleep, Kiss Me Deadly and Anatomy of a Murder.
- For a ‘classic’ of a different sort, the Coolidge replays The Room Midnight Saturday.
Concerts: Yes, it’s already concert season. And a lot of acts from my misspent youth will be playing. [Insert Michael Jackson joke here.]
- Saturday, Huey Lewis and the News will be at the South Shore Music Circus in Cohasset and Sunday they will be in the Cape Cod Melody tent in Hyannis. (Both shows at 8 PM).
- Sunday, at the Mohegan Sun arena, Aerosmith and ZZ Top perform (7:30 PM).
- For even harder rock, Def Leppard, Poison and Cheap Trick will be burning up the Comcast Center in Mansfield this upcoming Tuesday.
- Richard Cheese and Lounge Against the Machine perform covers that leave today’s hits shaken, not stirred in his Martini Hero tour. Wednesday 7/1, 7 PM at the House of Blues.
